The paediatric department caters the whole range of paediatrics patients (newborn till adolescent) by providing the best of medical, psychological and rehabilitation facilities under one roof.
We have the well-equipped NICU & PICU with the advanced equipment for providing level III tertiary care to our patients. Newborns and infants are provided with cashless services under the "JSSK" and "MUKHYAMANTRI AMRUTAM YOJANA".
We run special clinics like Asthma, Neurology, Cardiology, Genetic, Hematology, Adolescent etc catering to the different problems of the children and adolescents. Here the patients and parents are counselled & advised regarding long-term therapy, & patients are continuously & regularly monitored.
"Project Yashoda", our Human Milk Bank has been established under the PPP project with help of SPACT and running successfully, since its inception in December 2008. Approximately 1900 newborn babies have been the beneficiaries till now. We are organizing the human milk donation camp every year mainly during breast-feeding week (August). This noble activity of organizing the human milk donation camp has been recorded in the Limca Book of World Records. We have hosted a State Level Workshop on establishment and working of the human milk bank, which was the first of its kind in India and our faculty was a part of the formulation of making the National guidelines for milk banking. We have been an inspiration for many such organizations.
The 4-year national level ICMR project ‘National Hospital based Rotavirus Surveillance Network' has finally concluded and has been an enriching experience for the research oriented academicians of this department.
We are successfully running M.D (Ped), Post- graduate course since last 11 years, and our ex-students are very well placed in their lives now, which is an honour for this young department & reflects the enthusiasm of the team. Presently we have 7 seats of M.D. Paediatrics of which 4 seats are MCI recognized and rest are permitted.
The dedication of the faculty towards imparting excellent & thorough knowledge to its under-graduate and post-graduate students can be judged by their research activities. There have been numerous papers and poster publications in various journals and conferences by our faculty & residents till date.
