Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) provides regular pension payments to its pensioners. Pensioners are required to visit SMC office in person for their Hayati every year to continue receiving their pension. This process poses challenges to those who are physically unfit, unable to travel or resides outside Surat.
To simplify the life certificate submission process for its pensioners, SMC has implemented the Government of India's Jeevan Pramaan platform. This allows pensioners to generate their Digital Life Certificates (DLC) from anywhere using Aadhaar-based authentication, eliminating the need for in-person visits and ensuring convenience for all pensioners.
